that’s a great idea!! I will have to try this. i used egg cartons last time and it worked but the plant roots didn’t go to deep and it was tough to transplant once the garden was ready, but my veggies are still doing good.

Comment by 1too3fore on 10 April 2011:
If you bury the pots, how are we supposed to be able to read it then???
Comment by TheGardenCorner on 10 April 2011:
Wow, really great idea – and organic too!
Comment by carrieferhat on 10 April 2011:
Great video-why didn’t I think of this?
Yes, I believe I read (gasp! in a newspaper!) that as of 2004-5, 95% of newspapers were in soy-based ink. Lead was banned quite some time ago. I would think, if it were made of lead, it would be hazardous for us to read, touch, breathe in…

Thankyou i will try this i was very impressed with how quickly the seeds germinated…..
Comment by leasmom96 on 10 April 2011:
Most newspapers use vegetable inks now. Newspapers are perfectly fine for organic gardening. They’re used in No Dig Gardens and with Vermicomposting too.
Comment by DjokaStokic on 10 April 2011:
this is not such a smart idea WHY? do you know from which material are letters made of? from lead! and lead is not good for any living creature. It is not smart to contaminate your plants if you are going to use them later as food font do this! If that is going to be inedible then ok but higher levels of lead can damage a plant
Comment by BadassCeino on 10 April 2011:
Very simple, I like.

Comment by theRealCatinahat on 10 April 2011:
Don’t worry about the ink, it is soy based in 99% of newspapers
